Monthly schedule for Two Rivers Session at the ANAF Club
Hello fellow musicmakers!!
August! We’re already on the downside! Mow your lawn less now, stack some firewood beside the firepit, cosy-up to a hot smoky campfire, and noodle away! Don’t do this on a Wednesday night however! Come on down to the ANAF and enjoy your campfire with us!
Yes, come down to the ANAF Club and hoist a frosty pint or play music with your friends! Choose your pleasure! Here are the dates for the ANAF song sessions this month. As always, put them on your calendar and don’t forget to mention them to your compatriots, musicians or listeners!
The date/s and their musical focus follow:
Wednesday, August 12th – anything goes! (second Wednesday)
Wednesday, August 26th – anything goes! (fourth Wednesday)
And, as I have sometimes forgotten to mention the time and the Club address, let me do so now!
All get-togethers start at 7pm and run until 10pm.
The Army Navy Air Force Veterans Hall (ANAF Club) is at 32 Gordon St., Guelph, Ont.
It’s always great to see so many of you out at the Club, playing, singing and raising the roof! A good turnout helps to defray the inevitable costs of keeping the ANAF open for our session….keeping the heat on, taxes paid and our loyal bartender Nadine working! It’s up to us to keep these music sessions viable, both from an economic and an artistic point-of-view! The listening is great, the comradeship is warm and the beer is reasonably priced! A reminder – please bring cash or VISA for purchases (see NOTE 2). By all means, bring your friends as well! From an artistic point of view, as musicians, we give our best performance to an audience! Practically speaking, numbers speak loudly, plus purchases help to support the venue! As a good friend of local music said….The friendship’s on the house and the music’s always free (see NOTE)!!
NOTE We are focusing on encouraging a voluntary minimum spend limit in order to boost our contribution to ANAF Club expenses. Currently, the amount suggested is $5.00….that is, the cost of your purchases plus the amount you toss into donations should be approximately $5.00 (or more of course) We’re hoping that this scheme will not reduce attendance. We also WANT YOUR FEEDBACK, since there are, potentially, several different ways of handling this issue!
NOTE 2: The ANAF club can now take VISA payments, so it is no longer necessary to carry cash . GO WILD!
